The words of Josep Lagares about Amb Catalunya al cor (With Catalonia in our hearts)

Shortly before Christmas 2009, my wife Marta and I had the pleasure and satisfaction of meeting Monsignor Valentí Miserachs at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome. We brought him the newly released second record by La Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya (SCCC) entitled Inoblidables en concert(Unforgettable in concert), which had recently been premièred in Girona Auditorium and of which the highlight was Miserachs' masterpiece: Catalanitat (Feeling Catalan).

In the warmth of Miserachs' room, with his piano as a witness, we were deeply moved as we listened to theSCCC picking out the notes of of Catalanitat. Miserachs' Catalan patriotic sentiments transcend the musical notes, as I discovered later on reading his Amb Catalunya al cor, in which he describes the intimate soul of Catalonia.

This is why we wanted this third recording by La Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya to go under this spirit, the spirit of Amb Catalunya al cor... A spirit combining vision, talent, outlook and commitment; a spirit proclaiming harmony among mankind and the wisdom of our people; a spirit where courage and fraternity walk hand in hand together.

In Amb Catalunya al cor, the melodies presented by the SCCC radiate the light and peace of our land to whoever wishes to embrace them. On behalf of the business family that I have the honour to represent, I sincerely hope you enjoy this record with all your heart...
