Girona is a city that is striving to become a leader of culture both nationally and internationally, with initiatives in all areas of culture, and with a commitment to quality and excellence that make Girona the "cultural golden mile" of Catalonia.

In this context, The Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya is one of the most creative projects that the city offers to the world. Even though it is a young group, we can say categorically that it is a consolidated project, one that is popular and much loved. The dialogue between a cobla orchestra and a classical orchestra is the sign of identity of The Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunyathat, after some early works focused more on the world of the Sardana and Catalan  music, now explores new languages with a very personal and original interpretation.

On behalf of the city of Girona, I would like to thank the Girona company Metalquimia for its commitment to culture in general, especially in the field of music, and its commitment to the city. The Girona Auditorium warmly welcomes the annual concert of The Simfònica de Cobla i Corda,which is an example of a close and fruitful collaboration in the field of culture between public institutions and private enterprise. We strongly applaud this model and are particularly pleased by all initiatives that, now or in the future, follow the path of providing our talented young people with the tools for achieving higher levels of excellence, internationalization and identity.

Music is, without doubt, a universal language, radically contemporary, and it is within this framework thatThe Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya has managed to combine perfectly the universal language of music with the identity of city and country.
