It gives me great personal satisfaction that our good friends of Global Music Records are celebrating their first quarter century of life with the same vigor and enthusiasm they showed us in those long ago beginnings in Girona in 1995. And it is also excellent news for the cultural health of the country that the anniversary is accompanied by such an extraordinary symbiosis thanks to the alliance with the Cobla and String Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, a unique project born from the Metalquimia Foundation that links tradition and modernity, past, present and future from the hands of teachers and students from the Girona region.

"Get excited with 25 years of Global Music" is more than a title of a musical work. It is a project of shared learning, a permanent tribute to the best of Catalan music of the past decades. This ability to join forces explains why we are a creative country, a country in which an open, Catalan, Mediterranean, inclusive culture is part of our way of being and relating to the world. This collective and generous work is also a way of showing appreciation for the tireless efforts of the artists, producers, record companies, technicians and music venues of Catalonia who have not given up despite the obstacles of recent times. And this album is also a window open to vitality, joy and optimism in these times of uncertainty, of a certain disenchantment and yet, of struggle and hope.

From whatever corner of Catalonia and the world, we will surely get excited listening to familiar voices, unforgettable lyrics, eternal songs. And we will do it in freedom, which is the only path along which feelings flow and cannot be detained or imprisoned. Music is perseverance, it is effort, it is keeping ourselves stubbornly lifted up despite the circumstances.
