Catalonia is a country of talent, of innovative projects throughout the land and of close collaboration between the public and private sectors. Emociona’t amb la SCCC: Himnes al Cor is a fine example of this collaboration. This initiative of the Metalquimia Foundation has the backing of Girona City Council and the Auditori de Girona, as well as the support of Música Global. A remarkable project has arisen from this friendship, leading to an itinerary of musical concerts and events that combines the experience of the Cobla Principal de la Bisbal musical ensemble with the enthusiasm and talent of the Jove Orquestra de les Comarques Gironines (Youth Orchestra of the Counties of Girona). The Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya (Cobla and String Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia) is, therefore, a wonderful illustration of how Catalans like to do things, with a huge dose of generosity to further enrich our culture and bring us closer together as a community.

Music is the conduit through which we can unite our own soul with those of our fellow citizens, as it is as intimate as it is shared, as individual as it is universal. Music transports us emotionally to heal our mind and our soul. We use it as a refuge when we’re feeling down and as a means of escape when things don’t go our way, yet it also accompanies us during times of joy and happiness. After enduring two years of pandemic, we now need something to look forward to again so we can live life to the full. And this new project, Himnes del Cor, is sure to enthral you. It will touch your heartstrings by taking you on a journey through various iconic works; those that know no borders, nationalities or ideologies.

Immerse yourself in the wonderful melodies of the Catalan Cobla, in the notes of the tenora, tible (types of Catalan shawm) or flugelhorn, and in the voices of Beth, Manu Guix, La Pau and Joan Garrido, as well as the Polifónica de Puig-reig choral ensemble.  You will experience a unique repertoire and illustration of some of the finest harmonies ever created in the history of music. Directed by Francesc Cassú, you will live a unique experience that expresses our country in all its diversity in a wonderfully balanced way.
