Only one word to describe the concert given by the Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya SCCC (The Cobla and String Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia) last Friday, November 20 in the Auditori de Girona ... IMPRESSIVE !!!
With the Auditorium completely sold out, the presentation of SCCC's second musical project, the new recording "Inoblidables en concert" (Unforgettable in Concert) brought together more than 1200 inhabitants of Girona to enjoy the most intimate Catalan music with the marvellous and unequalled sound of Cobla and Strings.
Without doubt, an historic event and a night with such magical moments as "Muntanyes del Canigó" (Canigó Mountains) with a lovely guitar solo by Jordi Codina, or the ecstasy of "Catalanitat" (Catalanity) by Father Valentí Miserachs (President of the PIMS Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music - Vatican - Rome) among many others ...as well as the premiere works created especially for the occasion by Enric Palomar "Introducció i Bailete" ( Introduction and Balletto) and Carles Casas "Arquivoltes" (Archivolts).
The trajectory of the SCCC during the year 2009, with the release of the work "Sardanas for the World", the recent presentation of the new recording "Unforgettable in Concert ", as well as the performance of the New Year's Concert on TV3 (Television of Catalonia), surely means that, for the Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya, 2010 will be an UNFORGETTABLE YEAR!!!!!
